None Of The Above
In about 6 weeks, the presidential election will happen and honestly, I don’t like the choices. I don’t like Harris or Trump. Harris for the simple reason that I’m not sure she really has enough experience to do a good job and Trump since he’s extremely focused on himself.
The reason I’m not sure Harris has enough experience relates to her visibility. I don’t recall her doing all that much in public. When she made the news, it wasn’t all that much. I’ve heard a lot about what she was like when she worked as a lawyer and ran various things. What I heard wasn’t that encouraging.
As far as Trump, we have 4 years of media events. Most of these events were things he did that thrust him into the limelight rather than placing the focus on what he actually accomplished. I remember him going riding around in his limo while recovering from COVID, walking to a church in the middle of some sort of protest only to get a picture of him holding up a bible. An then there was the fantasy that he’d actually won the election but due to theft and cheating, he lost it.
This feels like it is the first election in a long time where there aren’t that many third party candidates. In the past, I’d know who was running as a third party candidate due to ads or being in the news but its been strangely quiet. I had to do a serious search to discover there seem to be three people so I’ll have to read up on them.
If it comes down to the two major candidates, you might wonder if I have a preference. I do but I’m not going to share it since I don’t even discuss who I voted for with my best friends. I hope you get out and vote, just so you can say, you tried to make a difference.
I am going to leave you with something my father told me as I grew up. You need to get out and vote otherwise you have no right to complain about who is in power. If you go out to vote, you have that right because you voiced your choice. So get out there in November and vote.
