I Am Going!!!!!

I’ve been watching the number of cases of COVID climb in my state and in the country. I gave it some thought and decided that I have as much chance of catching it around town as when I’m traveling.

In addition, I’m thinking that COVID will be around for a couple more years and honestly, I’m tired of being home all the time. I need to get out and see the world. I love traveling and have since I was young. If I wait until COVID has been declared totally under control, it might be another two to three years at the earliest before I could freely travel.

I have never purchased any type of travel insurance but I did for this trip. It will cover the cost of my ticket, my hotel if the trip ends up being canceled before I leave on Monday August 23 rd. Furthermore, it provides coverage incase I end up in the hospital with COVID.

Since every country I’m traveling to requires a negative test before I board the plane which means that if I get it, I’ll know it and my treatment will be covered. Most insurance people have, does not cover you if you get sick overseas so it’s best I’m covered. Yes, I’ll may have to pay for the tests but most tests are not that expensive overseas.

I am aware that my trip to Sweden and Iceland could be cancelled before Monday due to one or more countries totally closing their borders but since most countries are trying to stay open, I think I will be able to board the plane and take off for two weeks.

I will admit, I’ve gone ahead and signed up for tours while I’m traveling. The tour operators all say they are carrying out COVID protocols to make traveling safer. I don’t want to stay in my hotel the whole time and I want to see something. I’ve never been to Sweden so I want to enjoy the food by taking a food tour and visiting checking out the city and countryside.

I’ve been to Iceland before but there is a volcano erupting right now and I do so want to go see it. I love checking out volcanos. I’m also checking out some glaciers while there and taking a tour to learn more about the myths and legends.

Some people may think I’m gambling or being stupid but as I said earlier, I could catch COVID at the grocery store, the department store, or any other enclosed space. I think that as long as I follow certain protocols such as wearing my mask, being vaccinated, carrying hand sanitizer, and using common sense, I should be all right. I’m already doing all these things at home and yes, I’ve been exposed to COVID a few times but have not manifested any symptoms so either I didn’t get it or I was asymptomatic.

I have wipes, gloves, and tons of masks packed just in case. Let me know what you think, I’d love to hear. Have a great day.
